Ahhhhhh….. Fall, my all-time favorite season of all. *see what I did there* lol  Although, it’s still 83 degrees here in Nashville. I’m not letting that stop me from breaking out those key pieces. The BLANKET SCARF + BLACK DENIM + FLOPPY HAT + DARK NAIL POLISH + GREAT BOOTIE (by that I mean shoes, but hey, who doesn’t want that too) That’s a whole other post. It’s about layering those pieces and incorporating those into your current season wardrobe. I don’t believe it’s necessary to reinvent your entire closet. All you need is a few key pieces to add to the mix.

TRANSITION YOUR SUMMER CLOTHES INTO FALL

This tip works especially well for my friends down south, but honestly can be used in any climate.  Some of us just might be able to use it longer.  Take your favorite summer tops and tanks and layer them under blanket scarves or ponchos.  This is a great way to keep our wardrobe fresh without having to spend an absolute fortune.  This shirt is literally one of my favorite layering pieces (you guys were all asking about it after I wore it on my date night this past weekend), but these from Nordstrom are great too!  As for ponchos and scarves, I always have awesome luck at stores like Marshall’s, Nordstrom Rack, and Tj Maxx ( << click away. I LOVE that you can shop online- how great is that?!) So make sure you peek in the accessories department and when you’re there.

GRAB A HOLD OF YOUR BOOTIES

Pardon my pun, but you totally know what I mean.  Booties are the perfect transition piece from our summer sandals to those knee high and over-the-knee boots.  This is a great time to break out a peep-toe bootie or a perforated bootie, both of which are super on trend right now.  For the segment I wore these booties from the DV line for Target.  Have you check that line out yet?  Target and Dolce Vita absolutely killed it and they are all 20% off right now!  And because I love you and we’re friends, a ton of theses options below are under $100.

YOU CAN’T GO WRONG WITH A BUTTON DOWN

When in doubt, grab a button down.  I wore this one on the segment.  I am not going to lie, it is definitely an investment piece, but it is such good quality and will last forever.  Whether it is a plaid flannel or a classic chambray, these pieces look great with jeans or leggings and can definitely transition right from fall into winter.

DON’T BE AFRAID TO GO DARK

I love a dark nail.  As you guys saw in my Hey Landyn post on Monday, I am a neutral nail lover so you will see me typically in greys and tans.  There is definitely nothing wrong with a wine colored nail for fall though.  It can look absolutely gorgeous.  You just know me, I am a neutral lover all the way!
