My husband and I attended The Event On Main last night in Ann Arbor. This is an event dear to our hearts and supports The Charles Woodson Clinical Research Fund. The Event on Main is the highprofile event of the season in downtown Ann Arbor, featuring spectacular culinary experiences and dazzling entertainment on Main Street, all for an important cause. Since 2010, this annual event has brought together community leaders, up-and-coming entrepreneurs and established business owners in support of our Little Victors — the young patients at the University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital and has raised over a million dollars. I mean…. AhhhhhMAZING!

Next question was… WHAT TO WEAR? The invitation said, ‘Summer Cocktail Attire’ I immediately envisioned a blue floral full skirt + simple top and of course a really great pair of shoes. So on the hunt I went. I had purchased a killer pair of cobalt blue suede pumps from Banana Republic last year on clearance. I’d been WANTING to wear them for quite sometime and just hadn’t had the opportunity. So, those were what I was going to build this outfit on.

Not sure about you, but I often times dream up some outfit in my head and then go out and kill myself trying to find it. Most of the time it doesn’t even exist. But, damned if  I’ll stop looking. I started this crazy ritual after Sharon Stone rocked a Gap button down shirt with a Vera Wang skirt to the Oscars how many years back. Brilliant. I loved that.
Unexpected combos make the biggest impact. You should have fun with fashion and rebel against those
what to wear, what not to wear rules. Wear what makes you feel good + wear what you love.
Confidence is your best accessory, never leave home without it.

Had to pose for a selfie with a few of my fierce followers that were there. It was an ABSOLUTE blast meeting every single one of them. We had fun laughing it up and chatting about everything from kids to skincare.

THE DRESS

The material is soft and hangs beautifuly. Lays flat against your skin. Is fitted and flowy in
all the right places. I love the low back zip and bra like closure. Makes for a
fun detail when you turn around. No bra necessary, just need those DIMRS and
you’re all set. You can shop this pretty little dress here

THE SHOES

It was LOVE at first sight when I saw them at Banana Republic and the fact that they were on clearance made
me fall even more in love. I wasn’t sure I could pull the trigger on a full price pair of COLORED shoes.
Remember I’m a NUDE LOVER when it comes to shoes, but I do love a little pop. Sadly, they no longer carry those beauties I wore, but below are some really great options for that dress. All images below are linked to shop. I’m thinking I better add another pair to my collection. They were so FUN to wear.
