With Mother’s Day right around the corner I have been on the lookout for fun, easy ideas to put together for my mom for Mother’s Day.  My mom is such a huge inspiration and source of support for me, so I wanted to put together something fun and unique this year.  I had the idea to do a spa/beauty bag for her this year so I headed to Marshall’s because I knew there would be so many awesome things to choose from and I would be able to get all of my shopping done in one spot.  I am literally so busy with travel in the months of April and May, like out of town every week except for one before Mother’s Day, so I wanted to go ahead and get everything picked out and put together early.

I am all about trying to find alternate ways to package or wrap gifts, so I started my hunt in the purse section.  I wanted to pick out a really cute tote to put all of my goodies in.  I like that it is a 2-in-1 gift and she can carry the tote around all spring and summer after she gets the bath items out.  I love this white tote for only $39.99.  It would make a perfect beach bag or market tote.  I also found a beautiful scarf to tie on the handle of the tote as a cute little accent.

The scarf was actually the inspiration for my gift.  It was only $9.99 and the color palette really set the tone for all of the other items that I picked.  That is actually a really good tip for when you are shopping at Marshalls for a gift.  It can sometimes be overwhelming to look through all the items, so I like to pick a theme or color palette for what I am gifting.  That helps me really hone in on what I should be looking for and helps me stay focused on what I need to buy.  You know I am like a squirrel and if I see I shiny object it can send me down a rabbit hole, so that little trick really helps me stay focused.

Once I had my tote, I was ready to hit up the bath and beauty section to fill it up with all kinds of fun stuff.  Here is the best part; all of the the items I selected for my bag were less than $5!  Even the candle and picture frame.  How amazing is that!?! #marshallsdoesitagain.  I am absolutely obsessed with the little marble blending sponge that I found.  If your mom is a marble lover like me, you better head to Marshalls quick and scoop those up.  I also love the candle that I chose.  Marshalls truly has the best selection of candles (remember my pumpkin spice ones I am crazy about?) and the one I got was only $4.99.  I am going to put a put a picture of the kids in that cute frame and add that in the bag.  And viola, my Mother’s Day gift is complete.

So moral of the story is, if you are looking for a stress-free, one stop shop for your Mother’s Day gifting needs, get in the car right now and head to Marshalls.  I promise you are going to find something your mom is going to LOVE!  Who knows, you might find a little Mother’s Day gift for yourself.  It is kind of like Christmas shopping…one for them, one for me. #wedeserveit

Thanks so much for sharing this idea and the tips! I love the idea of picking a color palette to help narrow down your selections for gifts. I love your sofa that I see in the background of the picture! May I ask where your sofa is from?
