You guys! If you’ve been following along on Instagram, you know I recently came back from my trip to Africa with my family. And let me tell you — it was one of the most spiritually + emotionally transforming experiences I’ve ever had the privilege to embark on.
Because it was so moving, I wanted to do my best to convey to you the sights, sounds, cultures – just everything! about this trip to bring home to YOU. So, I did the only thing I know to do – I just started…talking.
I hopped on the mic last week to do my best to find the words that would most accurately describe this trip. But let me tell you — it wasn’t easy. And things got EMOTIONAL. I know, I know. There aren’t supposed to be tears on vacation — but these were good tears.
It was really the first time I was able to get my emotions into words – and I’m grateful you’re giving me the chance to do so. You’ll hear me get extremely choked up and emotional at the end of this Part 1 episode. So maybe grab some tissues if you’re a sympathetic cryer.
In this Part 1 episode, I’m bringing you on the first half of the 17-day, family trip through Kenya + Tanzania! I’m going location by location to help you learn about and visualize the landscape, culture, and beautiful animals in each region!
Tune in to this episode to hear:
- My biggest takeaway from the trip for myself, and my family moving forward
- All about our guide, Tim! You’ll fall in love with him!
- What I now have in common with kate Middleton and Prince William 🙂
- How + why lions kick their young out of their pride at an early age
- A hilariously, heartwarming story about warthogs (think: Timon and Pumba!)
Put in your airpods, go for a walk, and envision yourself in Africa for the next 45 minutes!
And be sure to tune into the next episode for the conclusion of their trip. You really won’t believe what happened next for Lily!
