Today’s episode was a social one, these two gals are some of my favorite people and we’ve known each other for a couple of years! With seven kids between the two of them, Cat & Nat know just how lonely and isolating motherhood can be. So, they set out on a mission to bring women and moms together by hosting dinner parties and events – with wine and without babies. The events garnered huge success in Toronto and were talked about all over, leading Cat & Nat to take things to the next level and break into the online world to reach more people and connect women and moms everywhere.
Cat & Nat’s rapidly-exploding community of like-minded moms tune in every day to watch them rewrite the paradigm of “the perfect mom.” With honesty and humor, Cat & Nat dismantle the unrealistic portrayals of motherhood that are often presented throughout social and traditional medias. Through their virally famous #MOMTRUTHS (which now turned podcast), which have garnered hundreds of millions of views around the world, and their daily Facebook Live show, Cat & Nat share everything moms think but are too afraid to talk about. And fun fact: Nat’s mom is a HUGE Living With Landyn fan!
What’s up girls?! How are you doing? How is Canada during this time?
We have been shut down for 15 days, but it’s indefinite for right now. We aren’t sure what’s next – we’re on day 15 of not much. Day by day. We’ve been together since the beginning – we rented a house in the woods, and we’re headed up there. We need to have space for our kids to run around. So now it’s times to go to the woods and just go. We are going to try it out in April, and then see if it works out.
Mom Truth’s: The Book ( you NEED this book)
I feel like this book is so timely because I feel so hard for new moms right now. That book is permission to laugh. Hey, it’s all about everyone doing their best. Mom’s, Mother’s Day is coming up and if you don’t have AirPods – you.need.them. I promise, I can’t recommend you enough. It’s a good trick, I promise, your kids might leave you a lone.
As for the cover, we worked with a designer and as soon as we saw the first version, we were like YES. Our favorite chapter is when we had 5 kids all under the age of 2.
How are you filling your days, what have you been up to right now?
Well, we’re having a party tonight with our kids. We bought a mini keg when this started, so might crack it tonight. We’re making candy boards and cheese boards. We just wanted to do something fun with our kids and make things a little different.
What’s the update with tour/instagram?
Well we had Nashville in a few weeks, and everything is currently pushed to the fall. The fall is going to be on fire, it’ll be so fun! Tour dates are often planned a year out, so we’re trying to schedule what we can but stay tune for updates. We have our Facebook live shows, we release 3 podcasts a week. We also started a late night live (every Thursday) and it’s a closed link with a ticket purchase but you also get a gift – it’s so fun. It’s like a virtual night out. All the details right here. Right now we are donating a mask for every ticket bought!
What did you guys think of Oprah?
Well, we died that she was with Gayle, it was insane. We love the way they love each other – that’s the exact type of relationship that we have and we really resonated with that.
OKAY – What is your most favorite meal to cook at home right now or your favorite place to snag take out?
Nat is a chef, and we’ve been doing a lot of baking. Cat’s daughter has been baking like crazy. Cat is a five minute meal kinda girl and Nat really like to dive into details when cooking. I also think that cooking during this time is great because now we have time for the process – it’s a little therapeutic. Cat made Kraft Mac + Cheese dinner and she can also make a mean quesadilla.
