I love strawberry shortcake, and found an even easier way to make it with my favorite biscuit mix. This recipe is so easy and delicious, and I always serve it when we’re hosting a summer party, or need something to bring to a get together. I love topping the shortcakes with a fresh berry + basil garnish… so good. Let me know what you think!

INGREDIENTS:
- 1 box Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit shortcake biscuit mix
- 4 cups sliced fresh strawberries
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1 tbsp fresh chopped basil
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
INSTRUCTIONS:
- preheat oven for biscuit mix
- in a bowl, mix together ingredients needed for the biscuits
- in a separate bowl, mix together sliced strawberries, granulated sugar, and basil & let marinate for 20-30 min if serving soon (the longer the better!)
- in another bowl, whip together heavy whipping cream, vanilla, and powdered sugar to make your whipped cream
- wait for biscuits to cool, and top with your strawberry & basil mixture + whipped cream
