I am not a dermatologists or a doctor I am just a mom but acne and being a teenager is just hard in general. I made it my mission to do whatever I can to help my kids feel confident in their own skin. So I wanted to share some great drug store finds that help + what I learned from our dermatologist and a few shampoos to say goodbye 👋🏼 to all the “sharon’s” (as in sharin’ my chin, sharin’ my forehead, sharin’ my nose… you get me 🤣) I talked about everything in my instagram post but here are all the details on the products I bought for Luke!

Our dermatologist said to get Head and Shoulders Shampoo or Selsun Blue Anti Dandruff Shampoo – so I got both because why not! They both have anti inflammatory and the Selsun Blue has salicylic acid in it which helps fight bacteria – this will help with greasiness, the hairline, and the oil.

After using the shampoo the next step is to wash your face with Cetaphil or CeraVe, something not too over drying just a gentle wash then get The Differin Gel (0ver the counter). This is a great spot treatment, Lily and I both love this. It can be a little dry sometimes, our dermatologist said to layer it with the Neutrogena Hydro Boost. She said teenager’s really like this product because it’s moisturizing but not greasy.

She did call him in a prescription in the retinol family – which can be dry, peely and scaly so she told him to rotate using it every other night. Another thing she prescribed him was clindamycin pads. He will use these right after he washes his face morning and night and see how it goes. And that’s everything!
