So, you’ve got a friend that just had a baby, or moved into a new house or maybe even recovering from surgery and you want to do something special for them. You could always send flowers or bring over a bottle of wine, but what they really want is a home cooked meal. Wouldn’t you? I would and that’s why I love doing it. It’s probably one of my favorite things to do. I get pure joy in putting it all together and especially when I see their face when they open the door.

So what to bring? Good question. I like to think about a few things… do they have kids? Any allergies? Maybe even their favorite type of food? Breastfeeding, so maybe no onions. Stuff like that. And if you just don’t know, bring this, my go-to and it’s pictured above. I mean, who doesn’t love Baked Ziti and Chocolate chip cookies? Exactly. The one that’s always been a crowd favorite is my Turkey Baked Ziti– it’s hardy, kid friendly and reheats well. Plus they can eat on it for days. Then I’ll trow together a quick and easy salad, you know the bag kind. Just cut some tomatoes, cucumbers, add some of those bag croutons and crumble a little feta cheese. Pick up an Italian dressing and you’re good to go. Next, throw some garlic bread together. I like to grab a fresh artisan loaf from the bakery. Slice it up & slap some garlic butter on both sides and tie her up with some parchment paper and bakers twine.

And last but not least DESSERT. I like to go the cookie route. You know the ol’ break and bake Toll House for the win. By all means if you make a killer brownie, make that! This is just my go-to delivery meal and it’s always a hit!

I put together some really great throw away containers that  I like and look so much better than those aluminum ones. Plus some twine and pretty containers to package up your gift. Because at the end of the day it’s the best gift they’ll get.
