Did you follow along on my stories yesterday? I took you on the 7 or 8 home projects that I would love to tackle this year! I felt like every time I turned a corner, something new would grab my attention and I would say – Oh yeah I want to do this as well 🤣 I’ve listed out the projects below + linked all the items that you need! Don’t worry, once I start to tackle these, I will do a post on each of them and show you via stories.

CARPET

We are wanting to put in new carpet, definitely want to do a deeper color –  not so white. You can imagine that can be a nightmare sometimes 🤣 I want more of a tight/weave carpet and we’re going have Myers carper do it this time. You can see my top three above!

I’ve had this ottoman for forever and I am going to cover it with fabric – I actually have the fabric, just haven’t picked it up yet!

We don’t really call it that 🤣 I’ve had this chair SINCE WE’VE BEEN MARRIED – I’m going to recover it,  put it somewhere else in the house and get a new chair. I want to paint that console table (we’ve had it since we moved here) The cactus / pot is from Creekside in Nashville

I have been wanting to do a gallery wall in this hallway FOREVER. I am looking at these frames and I am wanting to do it floor to ceiling – Do a mix of family photos and maybe some fun art mixed in with it. Also going to get a new runner from Myers. The art hanging in the left of the photo was a GREAT Homegoods find.

Steve has an open door to his office and we are thinking about adding doors to it – That way he can work in peace while we watch TV or hang out. I got inspired by the photo above, so maybe something like that or French doors? What do you think?

LIVING ROOM

COFFEE TABLE

I wish I could say that we still weren’t waiting on our coffee table, but here we are 🤣 It’s almost been a year and a half – NOT KIDDING. All the parts are in and we are just waiting on one piece that is sitting in a boat somewhere in the middle of the ocean. I’ll be on the hunt for a new coffee table.

BOOKSHELF

If you haven’t seen our IKEA book shelf, check out my post here. It’s one of my favorite things we have done to the house and it was SO EASY. Seriously. All of the darker pieces on the bookshelf are April Tomlin – Tomlin House – and I LOVE THEM. My plan is to take everything off of the bookshelf – style it differently + add some warmth to it.

CLEARLY, I need a new console table since we got a new couch. I’ll be on the hunt for one of those asap, thinking darker wood – Again, want to warm up the space. Here are the lamps that are sitting on it – I got these over the holiday break and I am obsessed.

DINING ROOM

CEILING

We created this ceiling when we bought the house and I LOVE it. We got all the wood from Wood Stock Vintage  – I want to sand it down to the bare wood and put a clear coat on it.

GRASS CLOTH

I am going to attempt to paint this – April Tomlin said YOU CAN DO IT. So I will follow what she says. I want to paint the baseboards + crown molding the same color as well – Thinking a moody green? Here are a few colors that April suggested –

I also want to sand this down to the original wood and put a clear coat on it. Looking at getting a new rug to lighten things up.

BUFFET TABLE

Looking at painting this as well – right now it’s a gilded gold. I am going to keep the mirrors because I like that – I would love to get some larger lamps + maybe some art in here.

THE KITCHEN

BACKPLASH

Wondering if you can tile over tile? I wanting to bring a little texture to the space – this is just regular white subway tile. Something more natural – Would love to warm up the space.

HARDWARE

Looking at switching out the hardware for possibly a matte black?

I have had these since we moved into this house and I just ordered some new ones! This is the table I ordered and here are the chairs! Also going to have Myers cut a new piece of carpet for this and put a rubber backing on it.

Let’s just say if you’ve been here long enough it’s always been a debate – to paint he fireplace or not. WELL, let’s just say I’m going to go a different route after being inspired by Chris Loves Julia – they did this to one of their fireplaces and it turned out SO WELL. Plus, you can do it for under $200 – WHAT.  My dad is a true mason, so he is going to come and give me hand.

First off, will never get over our Weston Table – we use it all the time, it might be Steve’s favorite. Thinking about sanding down that outdoor table + bench to its original wood and the possibly getting new chairs to pair with it. I am loving the new Studio McGee Line from Target for outdoor furniture.
