Okay, mamas. This one’s for you.
I know how much my heart was breaking when my daughter, Lily, went through some severe acne these last couple of years. I felt helpless to fix the problem for her. And I knew how much it was weighing on her confidence in herself and her performance at school.
I had to find a solution – and pronto.
This is when Dr. Lorien Sites came in to save the day.
Dr Sites is an amazing dermatologist in Nashville. She completed her three-year dermatology residency at Vanderbilt where she received extensive training in both medical and surgical dermatology as well as lasers and cosmetics.
When I brought Lily in to see Dr. Sites, we went through a few options that she believed would be a good fit, and ultimately we decided the best course of action was to place Lily on Accutane.
Once I shared this decision with you guys, I had SO many questions come flooding in – so I knew I needed to bring on Dr. Sites to help YOU in the decision making process with your teenagers.
So in this episode, we are chatting all things teenage acne – what it is, how to prevent it, and the best options out there!
Specifically, we are diving into:
- Why some kids are more acne prone than others
- The BEST over the counter product options
- All things about the A Word: Accutane (dosing, timeline, side effects, who is a good candidate, etc.)
Also, I’m asking some questions specifically for us adults experiencing some unexpected acne, too! I mean, at 38, all of a sudden my skin started breaking out – even though I never dealt with it in my teenage years! Dr Sites and I chatted about the best products for that – and the one product I SWEAR by (see below for more on this!!).
